Greatmoor Gearing Up For Its Busiest Month Yet For Visitors

November is likely to be the busiest month yet for the Visitor Centre with over 300 visitors expected!

There are two Primary School visits scheduled, for Twyford Primary and Hughendon School are bringing around 90 pupils between them.  These will experience the wonders of Greatmoor in small tour groups, while their classmates carry out curriculum based activities focused on waste and recycling in the Visitor Centre.

Grendon & Edgcott Cubs are visiting across two evenings, as are Wendover Scouts.

Other visits include South Bucks U3A and Aylesbury Farmers Club, both of which are bringing two tour groups.

Greater Thame U3A visited last month, but having heard their friends rave about their experience at Greatmoor, another 15 members want to visit.

Back in July, our Education Manager gave a talk to Little Chalfont WI in partnership with Chiltern DC Waste Team.  Seeing photos of Greatmoor is not the same as experiencing it in real life, and the ladies from Little Chalfont WI are visiting later in the month.

It will be interesting to see the response from Aylesbury Vale Model Engineering Club, maybe they will create a working model of Greatmoor.  We’d love to see that!

Finally, last but not least there are public tours on Saturday 25th.  These tours are available by pre-booking only, and there are currently a total of 7 spaces left between the 12.30 and 3.00pm tours.  Book now, and join the current trend – visiting Greatmoor!
