The Open Day at Greatmoor was a great success.
There were three tours on the day, with a total of 25 people attending.
Each tour comprised of a presentation in the Visitor Centre, followed by a visit to the grab crane controls, control room, grate, turbine hall and condenser fans.
Comments from the attendees include
“The whole experience of the visit worked well from the welcome in the car park. How the whole plant works and the tour were very informative. Would highly recommend to other people that they come for a visit.”
“The group size was manageable. The talk before prepared us well for what we then saw.
Very interesting – reassured that you are so much more than ‘just’ an incinerator.”
“(the guide) had great subject knowledge and showed great enthusiasm. He could answer the many varied questions in a way that was easy to understand by everybody.”
The next Open Day is 25th November – places are available by pre-booking only. There are places available on tours at 12.30 and 3.00pm.
